Dusty Days

Kiwi Rodeo delves into a little known rural community sub-culture. American inspired but distinctly Kiwi in nature, Kiwi Rodeo features Bull and Bronc Riders, Barrel Racers and bona-fide Cowboys and Cowgirls. This body of work was created in collaboration with Fujifilm NZ and the New Zealand Rodeo and Cowboy Association, with both organisations helping me build relationships and trust with community members - an essential part of gaining access to make meaningful images. I was welcomed warmly into a gathering of rural New Zealanders who have created a sport, identity and community built on their farming backgrounds, love of the animals and a commitment to looking after one another.
